Languages

There are four official languages in Spain: Spanish, an official language throughout the entire state, and Catalan, Galician and Basque, official languages in their respective autonomous communities. Of these four languages, Spanish, Catalan and Galician are Romance languages, whereas the origins of Basque can be traced to an ancient Eurasian language group.
