Residence in Spain

Who must complete this process and why? The EU/EEA nationals staying in Spain, for whatever purpose, for under three months shall apply personally to the Foreign Residents Office in the province in which they intend to remain or take up residence or, failing that, the local police station, for registration in the Central Foreign Residents Register.

Once you have made your application and paid the revelant fee you will be issued with your Registration Certificate.

After obtaining it, European citizens shall have the same obligations than the Spanish citizens regarding working, taxes, health, etc., and would be obliged to register at local town halls in the Spanish city where intend to live.

When should the application be made?

Application for registration must be made within three months of the date of entry into Spain.

What documentation is required?

A printed copy of EX-16
A valid passport (original and uncut photocopy). If this has expired, bring a photocopy of the expired passport and your application for renewal.

  • If you wish the Rovira i Virgili University to make the application on your behalf, you can contact the Human Resources and Organisation Department. You will be given an appointment for the office at No. 3, Plaça Imperial Tarraco, Tarragona. You will also be asked to bring the relevant documentation.

Lleida
