Who has to complete this process and why? Documents originating in other countries and not written in Spanish must be translated by an official translator, and this translation must be attached to the original documents.

What should I do in my country of origin? Locate a sworn translator registered with the authorities in Spain.

Through the diplomatic or consular representation of the country of which the applicant is a citizen (or, as the case may be, of the country of origin of the documents) in Spain (provided a suitably authorised and qualified translator is available).
